LOST IN THE MOMENT

As the Sun beats down on an ungrateful world.
I stare at an empty sky.
Blue and azure,
I'm reassured
As a lonely cloud drifts by.
Heat shimmers on a sultry day,
Sweat shines on a russet brow
Eyes squinting to see the way
Calloused hand steer the plough.
Faded shirt, old boots, and me.
all so much older now.
