Lost Desire Poem by Durr e Nayab Malik

Lost Desire

Lost in the cravings of attention
Bare footed I traveled the world
With anonymous partner along my side
The roads took me no where
A glimpse of you in me
I had an intuition to stay
Where fireflies were wandering
Green velvet across the trees
Melody of the wind
The sound I never heard
Closing my eyes in fear
To lose it all before...
Before?
Before I wake up again
And find no one with me again
Lost it all in dreams
And found nothing in reality
Life is a sanctuary for the blinds.
