Lost At Sea Poem by Matt Render

Lost At Sea

I don't know where I've been
But I know that now I'm back
And I wish I wasn't
It was peaceful then
In those old reveries
Comfortable cold sad
And alone

This happiness is far too much
And I can't stand to glimpse it much longer
The gifts
The songs
The colourful fish
And Matrotshka dolls
As all The laughter
Keeps rolling along
The fancy dishes
And hereafter
Warm kisses
Well wishes
And near misses
From disaster
So pleasing to the senses
With nothing else to ask for
I've one thing left to ask for:

I need the anguish
And a dizzying rain
Just to take off the edge
Like a boat captain after finding land
I wish that
Just once again
I could be
Lost at sea
In those old reveries.
