Lost Poem by Ryano ; ,

Lost

I lost my precious necklace
It fell somewhere & went astray
Days disappear in search
Of where the priceless present lay
I felt nostalgia at the start
Tracing steps in whistling tune
Thinking that it would be found
In utter ease & rather soon
But little did I know myself
That I'd be crawling on my knees
Cursing harsh unwanted words
While the wooden floorboards freeze
I never seek a helping hand
Despite the fact it never showed
The curtains draw again - I see
A basket case with cluttered load
I grasp it tight to carry on
Yet it slips away from grip
Its fragile content thuds the floor
With an everlasting blip

I lost my precious necklace
Believing accidents occur
Staring at the empty basket case
My sight was all a blur
Somehow in the midst of it
A silver bangle dangled bright
Lining beaming off its band
Capturing my shortened sight
The numbness left my rigid knees
Picking pieces off the floor
For this bangle turned out to be
One I lost some years before

Whistling tunes with curtains drawn
I grasp it tight & carry on
