Lord You Took
Lord You took the deepest wounds
That man could ever bare
And in your steadfast purpose Lord
It was for the good of our despair
The condemnation of sin that held us fast
Was soon to meet sin's breaker
For the complete Fulfiller of the law
Was Christ our Lord and Maker
Now no condemnation has one soul
Who has put their trust in Thee
God stamps His approval on each heart
That knows Christ and by faith has believed
The Spirit of Truth our Comforter
What grace Lord You have bestowed
Now with the.everlasting hope we have
We've a story that has to be told
So great Salvation for each soul
That looks to the Lamb of God
Who's life was spent for our sin
And endured sin's chastening rod
When God poured out His wrath on sin
So great that the whole earth shook
On no greater One than His own dear Son
Lord that penalty meted You took!
Hallelujah what a Saviour!
