Lord We Try To Mask Our Sins Poem by Gary James Smith

Lord We Try To Mask Our Sins

Lord We Try To Mask Our Sins

Lord we try to mask our sins
But You are sins Unmasker
You know the wickedness of each heart
And repentance is what You're after
You're not wielding a club of judgment
But there's mercy and there's love
That You use as a drawing card
To lead us back to God

A twenty four hour Watchful eye
That considers each motivation
That directs our heart's to do those deeds
That separates us from Salvation
And daily are You prodding us
To turn from sin's abuse
And show us that we have a will
So really there's no excuse

Help us Lord to recognize
Our prodigalness demeanor
To see how afar we are from you
We pray Lord You draw us nearer
Not underestimate what You've done
In the work there at the Cross
Where still the precious blood has power
To recover us from sin's loss...

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
