(Lord Lundy by Hilaire Belloc.) **Light verse: the plight of a political waterhead.
Extremely witty, and the cleverest part is the cut off to avoid boring the reader with LL's formative years which would probably move him to tears. As with all the cautionary tales this poem should be savoured like a good cigar or a rather fine claret.never mind 5.4, I award 11/10. A.Y.
This is my favourite poem, I particularly like his disdain for the Butler's opinions.
It's a wonderful poem crafted in verse with rhythmic splendour.
