Smoky, another evocative piece, nice work. As I was reading I was wondering if birds ever look down and are envious of us. Us walking around, firmly on the ground, the choice of the best areas to build our nests, fields of grain to feed our chicks, walk and rest to move between everything and never exhausted from flapping wings. Ships, trains, cars and planes for our migration and booked in advance accommodation not to mention 4 weeks annual vacation. Perhaps they must think we have it sweet, wings to them like opposable thumbs to us, taken for granted and blateny discreet.
