You'd think we'd learn by now. How many times have I pushed my heart through a shredder, hoping to squeeze more love out of it, and end up with only more pieces than I can handle. I think the realization is the worst; to realize it, and yet not have the moral decency to do something about it; to actually stop the cycle.
