Longing Poem by jamal wooden

Longing

I'm consumed by grief with every memory of you,
From photographs, messages, and all that's linked to you.
It's hard to bear the pain of separation, yet you've gone,
Leaving behind the dreams I had for us, now lost and gone.

My hopes were tied to your existence; now they're extinguished,
Like a flame that fades from a dry log.
My dream became a reality, only to become a burden,
Why did you return to me, only to revive my heartache?

Your presence still fills me with joy, and your gaze soothes my longing,
But your absence still freezes my passion like a winter's night.
I yearn for your love as a parched earth craves the rain,
And like flowers that bloom in spring, my love for you will bloom again
