Fair the hand that traced that line, “Dearest, ever deem me true”; Swiftly flew the fingers fine When the pen that motto drew. ///// beautiful poetic expression

(2) In those days, hygiene was still a long way off, by the way not only in England, but hygiene was still on the back burner throughout the world, which is why many children died in the Bronté house and this poem is about aging or about an illness she had seen. Beautiful words as I know hers. Excellent poem and oft so touching. CONGRATS.

Emily Bronte, a classic name I know so well. Each time I read a poem of her, I get oft a great smile, all so familiar, all too known, since she was on my study list at the university, she and her sisters all known by me. A true pleasure to read any of her poems. Her words “Dearest, ever deem me true”; represents her era of writing-art

But that lock of silky hair, Still beneath the picture twined, Tells what once those features were, Paints their image on the mind. How enchanting lines! Emily Bronte is unique in her own way!

A lovely smile worn out by neglect and time - depicted with a sad note, a sadness which is typical of Emily Bronte!

How refreshing to read such an in-depth poem that emphasizes the immortality of love. I'm not certain which of the two sisters I like better, Emily or Charlotte. They're both great writers. : -)

That is true. Beauty fades away as we grow old. But true love never go away. A very nice poem about the reality of life. Enjoyed thoroughly.
