sad sighs--slow tears accustomed to run sad
into as many rivers as two eyes could add,

An awesome poem coming from a heart betrayed and severely hurt by the one who was loved.

'Long-felt desires; a beautifully penned sonnet. Basic emotions do not change over times and they jell with every individual.

Human feelings don't change much thru the ages, some good, but many bad, unfortunately! Good poetry knows how to transmit feelings, deeply and well, time past, present or future does not change poetry's ability to transmit nor its wealth of feelings, like in this poem., where thy are still actually present.

Once the yearning for true love strike our hearts it distort everything in our life, we end up even where we have been betrayed once.

This is a well written short poem. It's clear and plain English, nothing abstract. I'm certain many of us can identify with Long-Felt Desires. Sometimes it's hard to love again and allow love 'in again', but love is the needful thing, so we must find a way to reopen our heart's door and let it in again. Curtis.

I like my poetry clear & in plain English too, but I wonder what the French original was like: -) The taste for incomprehensible poetry is quite modern, and this lady wrote in the 16th century.

Beautifully expressed thoughts. Failed desires and longings make us fearful and discourage us from seeking and attempting again. Writer describes that feeling and conflict so effectively it touches the heart.

Desires are part of life; so, let love arise! To touch the hearts of truthful souls. Nice work.

A feeling of matured loss pervades the poem.

Long felt desires and unfulfilled life surely sustains pain unbearable in life! Such a theme provokes thoughts on pain we have suffered in life!
