The mighty oak I see outside It's roots are deep and long It will live a hundred years And bend when winds are strong What a beautiful metaphor for strength and endurance, to begin a poem upon lose and the difficulty of carrying on without the beloved, written with feelings emotions we can all identify with, with a last line ending like a haunting folk song. Loved the sentiments expressed within each stanza.

Very enjoyable poem, full of emotion that really shows through. Just one question: Didn't you mean that the memories STRETCH the nights so long? In any case, great poem and congrats on Poem of the Day!
