Lonely Mirror (From My 5th Poetry Collection, 'last Evening Was A River', Penprints (India) ,2024. Poem by Aneek Chatterjee

Lonely Mirror (From My 5th Poetry Collection, 'last Evening Was A River', Penprints (India) ,2024.

My skin was peeling off
and bones from inside laughed.
It could not adjust to rays
from all ‘loving' eyes.
I lost my teeth chewing delicious
news for the last hundred years.

Walked miles on city roads,
jungles and muddy alleys.
Thirsty, I finally discovered
my naked bones today
inside the lonely mirror.
