Melissia, I was moved to tears by your compassion and empathy for your mother's pain. Your poem and prayer for her is beautiful. I too suffer from chronic pain and know all to well the toll it exacts on your psyche. The smile on your mum's face says a lot about her character and the condition of her soul... she shines in spite of the darkness.
