Living Dead Poem by Julius Saidu

Living Dead

We the sand of the sea shore
Walking like zombies
Life is short and dead is closer
We walk on empty ground with hallow souls
Beneath us; world of the dead
Above us realm of the living
Oh we sand of the sea shore
Today we stand under the sun tomorrow the water swallow us
When breathing, flies taste us
And eat us when dead
Then what use is it….living
Do you know why pleasures last short?
Today you are known, tomorrow you are forgotten
Life is a mystery of emptiness
It brings and takes us
So what do we gather?
What is the boast?
We sand of the sea shore
Like we are stars but common brown sand
As the ground can tell
We are food for the littlest men of the soil
Every living mans a dead man
Look, look at our feet
See the shadow of dead waiting to cover us
When ready or not
Heaven or hell
Now or later
Dead or alive
We sand of the sea shore
We are living dead men
