Here is a possible extension of anyone is interested: I cheered a smile, and laughed a while But my heart is tender still, I grieve to the sill And in a boy’s mind, my age offends to rile Come to me, and you’ll find How I live so fast, and die so young In a young boy’s mind! Little Missy, Little Missy you have but lived! Take from my hand this Earth, pushed unto unnatural birth And see I have crafted my spine to a poet’s bow, My port is burnt, blood spills from the futtock’s hearth And I am no longer old, I have learnt! Please Little Missy, Little Missy I have but lived Won’t you listen, Little Missy, Little Missy Or are you perfectly still upon the water’s edge?
