Butterflies are the first things that mothers introduce to her little ones. Your poem reminds me of a beautiful poem for children written by great Malayalam poet of yester-years, Kumaran Aasan: Child says: Ee valliyil ninnu chemme pookkaL Pokunnitha prannamme Aiyo poyikkoode kalippan- amme Vaiyeyenikku parakkan... (Mother, these flowers are flying off from this vine. I wish I could join them; but what a pity, I am not able to fly....) Mother replies: Thettee ninakkuNNee chollaam, nalppoom- pattakaLalle ithellaam... (You are wrong, son... they are not flowers; but butterflies) . Lovely poem, yours Nayanika... Great write..
