Lion And Zebra Poem by james watkin

Lion And Zebra

Wisdom declared, in the ancient thunder
King-like which beast should roar.
Expressing in faintest archaic wind
Which, quieter, should explore!

Who emerged from the wild scrub, swaggering
And who emerged with care?
Beside bearded Adam, one golden-maned.
And Eve, one striped of hair.
