A fellow was seen using a very old axe. When queried, he said
it was the very axe that George Washington used to cut
down the cherry tree.
"My! ... The axe has held up very well."
"Well the facts, I must say, truth to tell...
Replacements were made,
both the handle and blade,
Sev'ral times as necessity fell."
I cannot tell a lie. This is a brilliant Limerick. We old relics didn't start life like that either so I'm happy with the fact that all the parts have been replaced!

Sort of a Theseus' ship parallel. Funny because it is true. : -)
A scholarly remark old chap thank you
