Limerick: Vladimir Has Arrived Poem by Kim Barney

I just watched the game between the Oakland Athletics and the Toronto Blue Jays.
The long-awaited debut of Vladimir Guerrero Junior in the major leagues finally happened today. Vlad started the game at third base for the Blue Jays. His father and other family and friends were watching from one of the luxury suites.
In his first at-bat, Vlad hit the ball sharply to the right side of the infield for a ground-out. In his next at-bat he hit what looked to be a home run to left field but was a foot or two short and was caught up against the wall. On his third try he hit a long fly ball to right field. I was away from the TV at the moment, so didn't actually see that one.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, with the score tied 2-2, Vlad came to bat for the fourth time and smacked the ball down the right-field line for a double. He was replaced by a pinch runner, who promptly moved to third base on a bunt sacrifice. The next batter hit the ball sharply but right at an infielder for the second out. Then Brandon Drury hit a home run to center field and the Jays won it 4-2.

Wes Vogler is a HUGE Blue Jays fan. Well, actually, Wes isn't huge, but he is a great fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, so he should be extremely happy right now, and I'm happy for my friend Wes, and to see Vlad get his first major-league hit.
