Phil Silvers was becoming bereft
"I suspect an insidious theft
Of genius ability
With modest humility...
Nowadays there's so few of us left."

Bilko was my favourite programme when I was at school. Dobermann and the rest. What a great crew with a true star in Phil Silvers as the tricky, tricky sergeant! Such an effortless style, a sign of true class. Some people you never forget.

We lost Tim Conway today. Maybe you could salute him with a Limerick too.
