The last line delivers a massive jolt. I remember an old campaign from years ago. It served an entirely different purpose....Speed Kills. The words apply here. A touching work, Valsa.

Limericks are not necessarily funny poems, it's sad and touching.

Beautiful Limerick with tragic end. Very true said over-speeding thrills but it kills.

whoa! valsa. before i read your note i thought, that ended with a thunk. i myself know of a death and people who have sustained serious injuries in motorcycle accidents. i've never wanted one and would have done all i could to prevent my sons riding them. imagine how vulnerable you are going at high speed and having a collision! -glen

How sad to see him end this way A mistake made; a life to pay Too late now for him to learn But for others; a lesson stern Big bikes and pride will bring dismay Thanks Valsa

Youngsters are branded as reckless It’s true, by and large, they are careless This lands them in trouble Sometimes they burst like bubble We can only watch their road rage helpless Thank you so much Loke, for your beautiful comment......!

Absolutely right! Often speed is the villain! Sorry for the tragic end to the story! This is a unique limerick with a social message! Thanks for sharing....10

Over speeding is common in the youths and when the girlfriend is with him he becomes more excited, I am sad but why all such happenings are associated with a woman.?

Hurry causes worry is right. This limerick bears tragic instead of frolic. A didactic poem amazingly shared.

The format of limerick is a cute and lovable one...it's quite nice that you've chosen to write unhappy subject too in this format....of course this limerick is touching
