in rain has come to the beggars heart the pain but luck with favor at last gain
ok, i've been here. not in the beggars shoes, but on this page. ;)
No doubt a lovely limerick. But I'm curious to know: what came first, the poem or the picture? They fit like made for each other.
every cloud has a silver lining seeing his plight many like you dropped in his bowl a coin
Homelessness is still one of the stains of our society, that we should still have people who do not live but only survive is a shame. Its not often a limerick makes you feel humble for the little things, or gratitude but this one does. Reading this reminds me that when all seems bleak theirs a grain of hope. A 10 is too small for something this humane.
i would use two or no commas in line four. and i'd drop " deep" . but you get your point across, certainly. the illustration seems too 'happy', especially since the guy in the red shirt is me, taking money OUT of the hat. bri :)
An amazing limerick dear madam! Enjoyed the humor.........10++++++++++++++++++++++
It is a beautiful Limerick, Valsa! The deep despair and hopelessness followed by a small ray of hope and joy. There is always a silver lining by God's grace! ........10
The beggar heard the sound of pouring rain and this was amazing. Homelessness is humorously expressed in this brilliant poem. Thank you very much for sharing this Re-visiting this Limerick we are glad....10
The gratitude caused by seemingly small miracles! Reading this Limerick was a perfect start to my day. Thanks for this post, Valsa.
Beggars of any time has a hard time to confront. Despite umpteem adversities he is happy with the coins that fall into his bowl. Thank you Valsa George for sharing the poem
All day he sat and thought Of his unlucky lot But glad as he saw in his bowl, his gain! ......so touching and impressive. Beautiful Limerick on despair and homelessness is well executed.
Very hard for beggars at anytime. Now we barely carry cash so must be getting even harder. Tough times for so many.
The picture and the poem are, as though, made for each other. Loved your limerick, as always. Also loved the comment of @Kevin Patrick.
