Like Tears In The Rain Poem by Paul Warren

Like Tears In The Rain

I held your hand tight
During the dark of the night
When darkness held sway
Wondering what was but could not stay

These things now lost in time
Like tears in the rain

And when the light returns
Precious as it burns
For the light will show the way
Chasing the darkness away

These things now lost in time
Like tears in the rain

We the travellers move on
Along the pathway we have won
And our soul is nurtured true
Not left or right but straight through

These things now lost in time
Like tears in the rain

In the end what does it matter
In the background incessant chatter
As eternal whisperings around desolate shores
As they lap and are gone forever more

These things now lost in time
Like tears in the rain
