I like this poem, Daniel, because it captures the energy and wildness of Pollock's technique. The sudden personal statement toward the end was a wonderful surprise, in fact the last five lines suggest an abbreviated ARS POETICA: POEMS ARE SIMPLE AS SIGHT is a persuasively understated view of poems, and probably a cautionary note when our writing gets too dense and convoluted to return to the simplicity of sight. It's a caution I need often when I lose sight of the HEART as the source of poems and not the intrusive HEAD. The last line surprised me. I'm assuming it means sometimes silence is preferable to expression, so the painter should leave the canvas bare and the poet, the paper blank. Am I reading your message accurately?
It's called shape poetry. One wonders about the art. Trying both on read mine - An Acutely Obtuse Pythagorean Lyric - Adeline
