Flames are rising in the skies,
Like a ravaged city when it dies.
They curl, billow, and sadly blow,
Lighting the bodies with their glow.
They lie in shivered ashes lost souls,
Shivered they lie in the glowing coals.
Like the dying of great men who burned,
With a passion for right they yearned.
Like the dying of a star in the dark sky,
Such is the light of those who die.
In life they were princes of truth and light,
They were radiant in the world's night.
In death they burn and blaze in wrecked ruin,
Like their banners that the wind blew in.
Their lives were loving, selfless in their living,
And in the end their utmost sacrifice giving.
Sons of the dawn they fell like stars that fly,
Into the land where the shadows lie.
The fire is red and green and gold that glows,
Remember the men who died like heroes.

Indeed real heroes don't wear capes. They shine all through the trials and leave their positive mark on everyone's hearts.
