It is an implied law that whatever we take from Nature has to be put back in equal measure! As Gandhi ji has said, the world has enough to satisfy everyone's need, but not enough to satisfy everyone's greed! Man is exploiting Nature too much and we have to bear the drastic consequences! If we are not careful, not far is the time when man would fall like a dead leaf! Great warning!
