There's always been darkness
And light trying to cast it out
I carry my darkness like a teddy bear
I clutch it closely when the morning light breaks through
I hold my darkness fondly
Hiding it away as if to protect it from the light
I didn't even notice
as it seeped through my skin
Swallowing me whole
Until the darkness and I
are one and the same
Please don't let your light shatter me
