Thanks Chris. A stent is a piece of wire-mesh tubing. It is inserted in a collapsed state into the problem area (collapsed or damaged, narrowed) with the help of a catheter/balloon.Then the balloon is inflated, establishing the stent's full size. It holds the artery 'Engpass' open permanently. It's like a garden hose (artery) with a bad, leaky or corroded section. You cut it and place a piece of tube in that joins the two cut ends. Yes we are doing many things wrong in our modern world, need bigger and better hospitals everywhere that accomplish less and less. H
