Life Preserver Poem by Justin Aptaker

Life Preserver

heart faltering, under duress
i cling, drowning-like
to the Will to Express
and to Two Truths:
       the connection between all
       atoms in Existence
           and
           the eternal progression of light
           from its source
       which,
           although finite by birth
           is infinite thereafter
           its memory endures, preserving spirit
to the farthest reaches of Being
              and likewise, the Cosmos
remembers
every trace of action, even of thought
in every particle of its Being
         and memory lives
         not in the head only
         but throughout The Body
