Life It Is The Greatest Gift Poem by Francis Duggan

Life It Is The Greatest Gift

The wealthy and the famous of the World of today
To many their lives of great interest it seems to be this way
Stories of them in newspapers and magazines and they are often seen on t v
So many impressionable people in the Human World is how it seems to be
Why do you look up to and admire people you only know by sight
Making gods of celebrities does not seem at all right
Like you born to mortality eventually for to die
For to say they are immortal would be to broadcast a lie
That they too were born to mortality is only true to say
Eventually too life's reaper will come reaping their way
The poor and the downtrodden and those of wealth and fame
By the one who claims all lives are treated as the same
Life it is the greatest gift anyone does possess
And than the wealthy and famous in this respect you are no less.
