Life Is Misfortune Poem by Mohammad Yousef

Life Is Misfortune

By Mohammad A. Yousef

Life is misfortune,
like rain on a bright parade day,
dark clouds roll in,
hiding the sun,
turning smiles into frowns,
laughter into whispers,
but here we stand,
with tired feet and heavy hearts.

Endure it, they say,
when storms shake the ground,
when dreams slip through our fingers
like water in the palm,
when promises break
and hopes fade to gray,
we gather our pieces,
like puzzle fragments,
waiting to be seen
in the bigger picture.

Every stumble,
each fallen tear,
etches our story
in the lines of our souls,
a canvas painted
with scars and light,
beauty found in the wreckage,
in the quiet strength
that whispers,
"We can still move forward."

Life is misfortune,
the weight we carry,
like a backpack filled
with stones and secrets,
yet within this burden
is the spark of resilience,
the fire that refuses to be dimmed,
like stars that pierce the darkness,
tiny points of inspiration,
guiding us through the night.

Endure it, and you will see,
the dawn that breaks with colors anew,
the laughter that rises
again from beneath the ashes,
a heart made whole
by its own struggle
to rise, to thrive,
to find strength in what aches.

For in the storms,
we learn to dance,
twirling like leaves
in a wild wind,
and through the trials,
we build a bridge
to something stronger,
a spirit that won't back down,
embracing this misfortune
as a chapter, not the end.

So hold on tight,
even when the waves crash,
even when shadows overwhelm,
for life's twists and turns
shape the core of who we are,
and each weary step
brings us closer to dawn,
where courage blooms,
and misfortune becomes
the soil from which we grow.
