Life Is A Quest. Poem by Ogolla Enock

Life Is A Quest.

Life is a hunt. An endless quest for things
not yet attained, but still longed for.
Some thirsts are quenched, but many
are left questioning the answers.

Life is a battlefield. A struggle over control,
not control of resources, but control
of the human mind. Whoever controls
the minds of men runs the world.

While men seek things
both vain and noble.
The church wants souls
convicted and converted.
The state wants citizens
conquered and conformed.
And the devil lures them all
into traps of self-destruction
But God with his invisible hand,
sits high and rules the universe
with love and grace.

Though all men are hunters,
not all hunters are gatherers.
But whether or not one gathers.
Death eventually gets what it wants.

Carrying us away into a rest.
Just not the kind of exit we want.
In the end, only two things matter,
what did you seek, and was it worth it?
