Yes many people can have thoughts, but the poet extracts the effective thoughts, which might be sweet or sad but in a way that almost every one likes. Congratulations for being accepted as poem of the day.

I just discovered it today, wish I had seen it yesterday but it is a thrill and an honor. AOL puts my mail in the trash and other places. But makes me happy to be recognized.

Outsting poem! Yes, words appear out or nowhere at ant given time, and soon, others join them quickly....I write my words when I'm driving many times then finish when words join them later. You perfectly penned the process my friend

Like drifting out in outer space Thoughts go floating by me Some can go but others, I know Just simply cannot flee. - - - - - Many thoughts cross our mind, but those which touch our heart will stay with us.A poet; s heart is sensitive and he would feel restless unless express the emotions in a poem. Nicely penned poem.Congratulations as the Poet of the Day for this brilliant poem with which all poets relate easily.

a poem of once a poet always a poet that is the burden and the price we pay for writing such telling words in a particular way? .......................well penned Marilyn

This is exactly what happens with thoughts of anyone who is interested in poetry. Write is so candid, and expressed genuinely too. I too have already put somewhat similar thought differently though, in to a haiku- A live birth. Many a times I have been trying to catch some thoughts back after letting them go. Very seldom I could succeed. That's how poets do. Poem deserves nothing but the highest possible. Congrats for being the member's PoD.

I can totally empathize with you. I used to find it somewhat frustrating. Especially when sleeping. Now, I go with the flow. And I actually find it fun and challenging. Marilyn, Congratulations on Poem Of The day!

This is a poem I can perfectly relate to! It's funny how images, experiences, and sometimes random words that join other random words suddenly find themselves forming into a poem. Thanks for sharing Marilyn. Take care.

A good poem about writing poems. I think all poets go through that process of catching the right thoughts to begin a poem.
