Life Eternal Poem by Jonathan H. Scott

Life Eternal

The hour seems dark and so it will for now,
As I have laid me down for winter's sleep—
To Love each other, as I showed you how,
Is my best gift and wish for you to keep.

And, so I've gone, just for a couple whiles,
On up ahead and wait in sunset's glow,
As you each come to me with tender smiles
And all the joy and Love we used to know.

But, until then, you mustn't e'er forget
How deep within your hearts I live today—
Remember, always, I am with you yet
And Love you as I did just yesterday.
