Life Changes. Poem by Lewis Dever

Life Changes.

Rating: 5.0

In days of youth, so carefree and bright,
I danced through joy, bathed in sunlight.
Games and laughter, a melody in rhyme,
A world of happiness, an innocent time.

But shadows cast, as time unfolds,
People change, stories untold.
From smiles to frowns, the journey takes,
A soul's transformation, as the heart breaks.

In search of solace, through tears and strife,
Loneliness cuts, like a surgeon's knife.
A yearning for someone, a kindred soul,
To understand, to make broken spirits whole.

The night unfolds, tears on a pillow cascade,
Aching for warmth, in the darkness, afraid.
Once not alone, a distant memory,
'I wish for company, ' whispers the plea.

Life's tapestry woven with threads so thin,
Once carefree, now longing to begin.
The echoes of youth, a distant tone,
In the silence, a prayer - 'I'm not alone.'
