Life Called Death Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Life Called Death

Life Called Death

It is easier to be dead than alive
At least you don't have to arrive
showing off and pretending
Because in the soil will be your bedding

Dead simple
Gone with your dimple
to be remembered briefly in memoriam
eulogized ad nauseam

To be alive you have to be you
while dead you belong to a crew
mythical figures called ghosts
who you never met travelling from coast to coast

I want to be alive only because life is
I am living with ease
But, sometimes I feel the futility
of living beyond senility

when it is easier to just join the food chain
obeying the 'from dust to dust' refrain
And the peace that comes on earth
when you accept the life called death
