I always love that TV show. Falk was indeed a marvelous actor, and the part of Columbo fit him well.
One of my favorite stories about him is when he was a substitute teacher. Most people are probably aware that Falk had one glass eye, which enabled him to look at people the way most people couldn't, that is to say, that when he looked at someone, the look on his face could not be duplicated by someone with two real eyes. Anyway, for some reason he had to leave the classroom that day, so he took out his glass eye and put it on the desk facing the students and said
Just remember, I've got my eye on you!
