Lies, oh lies, they weave a tangled web
Of deceit and betrayal, a poison to the soul
They whisper sweet nothings, promises unkept
Leaving hearts shattered, taking their toll
They come in many forms, big and small
From white lies to malicious deceit
They can tear down walls, break down trust
Leaving wounds that are hard to treat
Lies can be like a thief in the night
Stealing away our sense of security
Leaving us questioning everything we once knew
Leaving us lost in a sea of uncertainty
But why do we lie, what drives us to deceive?
Is it fear, insecurity, or a need to please?
Or is it simply a way to protect ourselves
From the harsh realities that life can bring?
But lies, they have a way of catching up
With those who choose to deceive
They can unravel the fabric of our lives
Leaving us with nothing but grief
So let us strive to be honest and true
To speak with integrity and grace
For in the end, it is the truth that will prevail
And set our hearts free from the chains of lies' embrace.
