Libyan Desert Poem by Ima Ryma

Libyan Desert

Rating: 5.0

Libyan Desert, land that beguiles
Humans into believing that
This five hundred thousand square miles
Is a welcoming habitat.
Humans coming soon understand
Its hamada or stony plain
Has no covering except sand.
And Ghibli winds blow the domain,
Creating fierce, blinding sand storms.
Heat in the hundreds of degrees,
Cold below zero be the norms.
Humans have choice to boil or freeze.

Libyan Desert, land that does give
Visiting humans dare to live.
