Viewing Tianmen Mountain
- Li Bai (701-762)
- Translated by Frank C Yue
The Heaven's Mountain was truncated by the Yangtze,
Here the east-flowing green waters make their turn.
Two groups of blue hills stand on both hands;
From afar beside the setting Sun, a lone sail returns.

View of Tianmen Mountain
- Li Bai (701-762)
Through Tianmen's twin-peak portal, the mighty River churns;
East rolls its water all turquoise, till here, its course it turns.
Why, green cliffs burst into sight, on banks both left and right;
From afar where the sun adjourns, O my solitary sail returns.

天門中斷楚江開
碧水東流至此回
兩岸青山相對出
孤帆一片日邊來
