Letter To My Younger Self Poem by Chitra Bisht

Letter To My Younger Self

Dearest Me
Congratulations on being thirteen

No longer a child, not yet an adult
Rapidly growing limbs, brain muddled

Life seems so challenging and scary
Tis just a part of growing up, don't worry

You are so smart for your age
Dealing with issues, not giving in to rage

Temperamental adults or gender dis rimination
You hold your ground with steely determination

Dealing with molestors strongly but quietly
Getting the last of the morsel, accepting politely

You are always so sorted, are you?
You never do publicly cry, why so?

Good at hiding emotions, don't do it
Good at waiting for others, don't go for it

Coz slowly but surely, it will take a toll
Younger you making sacrifices, elder you will surely fall

Thinking just for others will turn you into a non entity
You will be a no one, have no identity

Love yourself, for you are God's masterpiece
Be that one special person, filled with charm and grace
