Letter To Aquila Poem by duke perry abrokwa

Letter To Aquila

Dear Aquila, my little star,
Named by your mom, who knew you'd go far.
Grandma might struggle, her tongue might slip,
But 'Bɔade her'—a sweet Akan tip.

I dream of the day I hear your first cry,
A melody sweeter than the softest lullaby.
Your first smile will brighten the room,
Chasing away every shadow of gloom.

I'll watch you crawl, exploring the floor,
Till you take your first steps and open new doors.
With every wobble, every fall,
You'll rise again, my miracle small.

And oh, the day a suitor appears,
I'll guard your heart, calm your fears.
He'll face your dad, the gatekeeper bold—
The first test of courage, a tale to be told.

Your mom's amazing, wise, and true,
But, Aquila, know this—I'm rooting for you.
I'll be your partner in all of life's schemes,
Your biggest fan, the builder of dreams.

So hurry, my darling, the world awaits,
To see your wonder, to celebrate.
You're my joy, my little star—
Aquila, my love, just as you are.

Soar high above the stars, as the eagle you mean.
I love you so much.
Yours truly, Your future Dad.
