You know what, Mr. Quoth Theraven? ? ? - -if there is any tradition as wonderful, I think it would blow out the fuses of humankind! ! !
Susan, Is there any tradition as wonderful as a walk under the northern stars? QtR

My dear Geeta, I reread this poem and thought what it would be like if my PH friends and I could take a walk together in that winter Eve with God to visit His Son. What joy that would be! Thank you Geeta for reminding me what a lovely walk that would be.
Join me instead, won't you, dear neighbor, on a walk with God and angels and shepherds So beautiful - a walk to meditate on Gods, Angels and shepherds. Most holy and noble, dear Poetess Susan........10

Thank you, Robert- -Christmas is my favorite time of the year and to write a poem about it is an honor! !
Robert M Smith- Thank you so very much, Robert, for taking a walk with God- that makes a holy Christmas!
A snow quiet street - northern winter streets really are places to think - snow quiets all - thank you for this little write - reminds me of when i was small and the snow banks were so tall - good one thanks for not letting this thought slip away -
Yes! And the streets are so muffled- -even one's own footsteps sound faraway. Thanks for the comment and the read!
After reading this lovely poem we shall ask: @ do we need a TV? or it is too stressful these days? I would say let we walk with the poet to discover the nature and be friend with it, it doesn't lie to us at all..brilliant Dear Susan 10++ Join me instead, won't you, dear neighbor
The news is disturbing especially when the common citizen has less and less opportunity to do anything about it! Yet we are all of us getting to be fellow citizens and our country is the world. So let us take a peaceful walk together and rediscover our commonality. Thank you for the starry-eyed 10's, my friend!
Leave the news full of stupidity, cupidity and unkindness unwatched on the television- it will still be there tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow- same sins, different names, painting ugliness and despair into our hearts . Join me instead, won't you, dear neighbor, on a walk with God and angels and shepherds- - - - -I agree with you Susan.Very well written poem.
It pleases me that you enjoyed the message of this piece. Thank you, dear Bharati
To walk and talk! ! Not with a chalk; Only with the romance of nature. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
I received a notification of a new reader's comment but it is not here: The comment reads: Wisely emphasizes " The Good News." An eloquent and elegant portrayal, Susan. Indeed, sublime!
painting God's News into my heart, TV a useful medium has turned into a nuisance. Mobiles are fast becoming one. Indeed too much of anything repulses us, as a Sanskrit Shloka says. Good write. .
I wonder if the people before telephones and telegraphs lived a more stress-free life- it took months for the news to reach then and they knew that the problems would have been already resolved or too old to fret over
FOUND IN E_MAIL BUT PH FAILED TO POST IT HERE: Every Xmas eve as young children, my mother would take us to the big hospital a walk away from our home, to join in singing Xmas carols to the patients from ward to ward on all 7 floors of the hospital. Your lovely poem reminds me of those joyful nights. Thank you for sharing dear Susan. This is beautiful! ! ! - - Thank you whoever posted this! ! !
Hear hear! I’ll second that. Leave the bad news unwatched. Open your eyes to the Good News, and the wonders of nature around us. Nice poem, Susan.
Laurie! ! ! Exactly! ! ! Wouldn't life be less stressful if we didn't hear the news until it was a month old? ? ? ? ? ! ! ! ! !
Hi Susie, Wonderful poem. Sitting at home and watching tv, the trash news, we become a waste=bin, a trash-can. So let’s get out and watch the world, I prefer this snow-quiet street raining twinkling Christmas colors from trees bushes, fences, roof lines, and windows painting God's News into my heart... Yes, the world outside has a lot of “Good News” to offer us. Very beautiful Christmas thoughts. A very warm smile! Loved it...
Unnikrishnan! ! ! ! ! I am glad to put a piece of happiness in your heart with this poem. It is a very special poem to me- now doubly so! You always encourage me so!
P.P.S. Susan, in its message this poem resembles my poem Still. You might like it. -Glen
P.S. This poem reminds me of Whitman’s When I heard the learn’d astronomer. -G.
Hey, Susan! I was looking for a new posting from you and was rewarded with this which, as you likely would have guessed, I so much agree with. There’s so much beauty, so much good in the world, why warp our perspectives with a dump-load of ugliness, speculation, and triviality? A happy happy new year to you, sister! -Glen
Glen, I am very pleased that you saw this poem and read and commented on it. It was a poem near and dear to my heart. When the world is too much with us, we need to turn our focus on our Lord and it is amazing how much beauty and joy we see then!
Beautiful Susan we all wish this
hey, LeeAnn, if wishes were horses...
