Let Me Sleep Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Let Me Sleep

Rating: 4.5

‘Let me sleep
Let me sleep
For dreams be as of me.
For the will yearns
For images rather
Than thoughts
For thoughts most
Are cares; most be
Woes’

‘Let the life
All around be a dream
Reduce its physicality
Reduce to the soft
Of the dream
Transform the mass
To the current and soft
To the sleep
To the yearning,
The dream.’

‘Let me sleep
Let me sleep
For dreams be as of me.
For the will yearns
For images rather
Than thoughts
For thoughts most
Are cares; most be
Woes’

Nicely written. A skillful showing of beautifully composed words
