Let Me Back In Poem by Paul Reed

Let Me Back In

With this heavy weight

Planted inside of me

By whom I do not know,

With the fullsome spate

Of the river's spree

Dammed up with nowhere to go;

Why can I not join in

Have to sit at the side

Why is life passing me by?

What is this infernal thing

Stronger than time and tide

Taking the twinkle from my eye;

No longer the need to strive

For the highest peaks

No longer the urge to win,

Enough just to be alive

Through a door that creaks

Please, life, let me back in.

Anxiety always gives feelings that we are nowhere else. But there is no need to bother about. We expect that the calm state you can feel and realize with twinkling of eyes. Yes, you should come back to calm poetic mood to wrote more and you should come back to reality of life being free from anxiety. A nice poem is very well penned.
