Let Me Poem by Paul Reed

Let Me

Let me rise with the sun in the morning
And dance in that first light
Let me be foolish and innocent
Teach me what is right;

Let me pause at midday
To take stock of my life
Let me find someone to love
And take them for my wife;

Let me ease into the afternoon
See the beauty of each flower
Let me teach my children
To relish each passing hour;

Let me rest in the evening
As the sun begins to set
Let me treasure my memories
The things I will never forget;

And when night finally falls
And the day has gone on by
My very last wish of you
Is just to let me die.
