Lessons From The Bamboo Tree [ 5 Strings Of Tanka ]

Rating: 5.0

In humility
It bows, rooted to the ground
Bending in the wind
Bowing in full submission
To the will of nature's blow

When the wind blows hard
The bamboo tree dances, sways
Submitting itself
To the caprices of wind
Flaccid, unresisting

When the other trees
Are broken from the wind's blow
With their leaves and twigs
Ravished by the passing storm
The bamboo tree stands fully

Bamboo embodies
Flexibility, a trait
We all need to learn
To face life's stormy weather
And stay rooted to the ground

In the harshest blow
Of life's storm, even the strong
Can fall, break, knocked down
Like trees broken, uprooted
In the aftermath of storm

VERY NICE! ! Are you SURE Bri didn't write this one! ? ? Well i guess he is too insensitive to wriite such a tribute (?) to the flexibility of overgrown GRASS. Oak trees are often written about as 'so strong', but they are probably more likely to suffer damage or 'uprootedness' from a great wind than bamboo is....i THINK. to MyPoemList. bri :)
