Legendary Loneliness - For David Pritchard Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Legendary Loneliness - For David Pritchard

Rating: 5.0

Hey, Buddy a dime for the last time
To let me hear Rock and Roll's prime
Hey, crazed Patsy sparing your lost sanity
To let me know that I'm not so crazy
Hey, fluent Jimi having your experience
At the insanity of immense expense
Hey, tragic Janis taking comfort
In perceiving that we all hurt
Hey, sagacious Jim lighting the fire in our soul
With the poetry of your endlessly wailing soul
Hey, stark Elvis we are forever lonely tonight
Contemplating your astonishing plight and flight
Hey, Lennon imagine forever free
With God's speed projecting eternally

Lonely legends living in their own time
Rocking and rolling with eternal rhyme
Lonely legends forever in our mind
Diamonds in the rough sparkling in the grind

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Before his untimely death, David Pritchard was considered to be the foremost authority on The Beatles. I miss him and those wonderful vignettes that he shared with me about some of the musical giants.
